celebrating over 70 years of educating young children

Thank You, Cherry Lane Community

After more than 70 wonderful years, Cherry Lane Preschool has officially closed its doors. It is with full hearts and deep gratitude that we reflect on the generations of families who walked through our doors and trusted us with their littlest learners.

From the very beginning, Cherry Lane was more than a preschool—it was a place where curiosity bloomed, friendships were born, and the love of learning took root. We have had the privilege of watching children from Holland, Zeeland, Hamilton, and beyond grow, explore, and thrive within our walls. The laughter, the songs, the tiny handprints on art projects—they’re all part of a legacy we’ll treasure forever.

To our incredible staff, past and present: thank you for your dedication, warmth, and unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds. To the parents, grandparents, and caregivers: thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your belief in the importance of early childhood education. And to our amazing students—each and every one of you left a mark on Cherry Lane that time will never erase.

We send off the final Class of 2024 with pride and love, knowing they carry the spirit of Cherry Lane with them into the world. Though the doors have closed, the memories, the lessons, and the love will live on in every student who called Cherry Lane home.

With heartfelt thanks,
The Cherry Lane Preschool Family

Curriculum

PLAY-BASED LEARNING

Our daily centers contain ever-changing themes and materials. Children may create an artistic masterpiece, explore interesting manipulatives and sensory objects, and enjoy a snack with their friends.

Fine motor skills grow with practice in cutting, coloring, pasting, and beading...as much as each child chooses to do.

Language skills develop through age-appropriate activities that incorporate comparing and contrasting, sequencing, retelling a story, and demonstrating understanding of basic concepts.

Math and science concepts are incorporated into fun activities.  Used in many local school districts, the Zoo Phonics program prepares children for learning to read and write.
